Visit to the Serbian-Russian Church under construction

31/05/2023

The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, together with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Kalabuhov, visited today in Banja Luka the Serbian-Russian Church under construction.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the Serbian-Russian Church which is now under construction is a symbol of the will of the Serb people and the brotherly relationship with the Russian people, and that the Republic of Srpska, as always, will continue to support the construction of this capital building.

The President Dodik pointed out that the relationship between the Serb and Russian people cannot disappear, regardless of various intentions and stories about the alleged malignant Russian influence, because the Serb people perceive the Russian people and Russia as friends and have no reason to doubt that, which could not be said about certain western countries who give millions of dollars to break the “Russian influence”.

“If there was no persistent struggle of the Serb people for 30 years, since the existence of the Republic of Srpska and more, Srpska would have been eliminated by the will of the Western powers, primarily the USA, Great Britain and the EU. They know they cannot do that, but they are trying to desecrate the Republic”, said the President Dodik.

After visiting the Serbian-Russian Church under construction, the President of the Republic stated that Srpska had already given BAM 20 million for the construction of the church.

“We have promises from Russian businessmen that they will help the interior arrangement of the church. When the summer is over and the roof is being done, we will talk about the interior decoration. Experts from Russia will come and determine the level and standard, which will undoubtedly be the highest possible level. This is a capital building that will give Banja Luka another recognisable site”, it was pointed out by the President Dodik and he reminded that the idea of building a church was born at the end of the First World War, but that even after 100 years, it was not abandoned. “This speaks of perseverance, determination, connection”, explained the President of the Republic of Srpska.
