At the meeting, President Cvijanović and Mr Erath exchanged views on the current political and economic situation in BiH.
At the occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out the need for constituting authorities at all levels in BiH, without conditioning, in order to, as she stressed, ensure the credibility and functioning of the authorities in the implementation of important projects that directly reflect on the citizens’ quality of life.
Furthermore, President Cvijanović expressed the commitment of the Republic of Srpska institutions to co-operate with other levels of authority in BiH and the region, but also at the global level, to achieve higher level of security.
The National Security Council of the White House (NCS) is a part of the Executive Office of the President of the United States and represents the main forum that the President of the US uses to consider matters of national security, military issues and foreign policies with senior national security advisors and cabinet officials. Since its establishment, the main function of the National Security Council has been to advise and assist the President of the United States on national security issues and foreign policies and to co-ordinate these policies between different government agencies.
The Republic of Srpska President previously spoke in Washington with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer. Interlocutors discussed current matters in the Republic of Srpska and BiH.
At the meeting, President Cvijanović underlined the need for constituting credible and legitimate authorities at all levels in BiH, with the objective of continuing initiated projects of importance for the improvement and development of citizens’ quality of life.
Later in the day, the Republic of Srpska President will meet with the Secretary of State of the US State of Maryland John C. Wobensmith, and with the President of the Webster University Željko Šuster.
