The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in the Palace of the Republic in Banja Luka with the directors of the Republic’s cultural institutions, the National Theatre, the Children’s Theatre, the National and University Library, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of the Republic of Srpska.
The meeting discussed current matters in the field of culture, problems faced by the institutions of public significance and the possibilities for overcoming those problems.
President Cvijanović pointed out that institutions of national significance have excellent potential for developing their cultural mission, but also of education and science in general, and that, as representatives and promoters of Srpska, they need to have good working conditions.
In this sense, the President stressed, all institutions of the Republic of Srpska will provide the managements of cultural institutions their maximum support, but also offer concrete, rational and realistic solutions that will contribute to their overcoming their problems.
Directors of cultural institutions expressed their satisfaction with the fact that they have found support in all representatives of Srpska’s institutions, and in particular thanked President Cvijanović for giving the initiative for the joint meeting and showing a high degree of understanding for cultural institutions.
Today’s meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Finances, the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society, the power utility company “Elektroprivreda” of the Republic of Srpska, the Regulatory Commission for Energy, the Banja Luka City Administration, and representatives of the Banja Luka heating plants “Toplana” and “Eko Toplana”.
