The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with a delegation of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Government headed by Deputy Prime Minister Đorđe Milićević.
Interlocutors discussed further strengthening of economic and cultural ties between Srpska and Vojvodina, common activities toward the development of economy and tourism, as well as possibilities for establishing more intensive connections and joint participation at international manifestations.
It was jointly assessed at the meeting that institutional co-operation between the Republic of Srpska and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina is at a very high level, and that there is a high degree of unity, co-ordination and that numerous common initiatives are ongoing.
As a good and practical example of mutual co-operation, the meeting pointed out the establishment of the “Entrepreneur of the Republic of Srpska” Charity Association, which is mirrored upon the Serbian Business Association Privrednik from Novi Sad.
President Cvijanović thanked the Vojvodina Government and the Fund for Assistance to Refugees, Expelled and Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, from Novi Sad, for today’s donation of computers to talented children from socially vulnerable families in Srpska, and stressed that this donation will make it possible for students to acquire skills and knowledge essential for their further education.
With the support of the Government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the “Entrepreneur of the Republic of Srpska” Association was established by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska and the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Banja Luka together with the Academy of Arts and Sciences of the Republic of Srpska and the Universities of Banja Luka and Istočno Sarajevo, and a large number of entrepreneurs.
Under the motto of Work-Saving-Integrity, the main objective of this foundation is to assist gifted children from socially vulnerable families with their education and training. The “Entrepreneur of the Republic of Srpska” has opened a public bid for the enrolment of the first generation of protegés and trainees or the 2019/2020 school year.
Apart from the humanitarian, interlocutors pointed out the significant pedagogical, educational and cultural mission of the Entrepreneur Association and its role of developing feelings in young people of national pride and belonging to one culture, background and tradition.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Fund for Assistance to Refugees, Expelled and Displaced Persons from Novi Sad Duško Ćutilo and representatives of the “Entrepreneur of the Republic of Srpska” Charity Association Goran Račić and Borko Đurić.
