The First Session of the Committee for the celebration of the Day of the Republic of Srpska held

The Republic of Srpska President Željka Cvijanović chaired today the First Session of the Committee for the celebration of the Day of the Republic of Srpska, on which the Committee for Celebration of January 9th – the Day of the Republic of Srpska was formed, and the Program and financial plan of the celebration was adopted.

Central events on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Republic this year will also be a solemn parade at the Krajina Square, a formal academy at the sports hall “Borik”, as well as a formal reception at the Administrative Centre of the Government of the Republic of Srpska.

The Program of the celebration of January 9th – the Day of the Republic of Srpska 2019, includes the traditional receptions hosted by the President of the Republic, the laying of wreaths at the monuments to the fallen soldiers of the Republic of Srpska Army and soldiers of the People’s Liberation War, the laying of wreaths at the Memorial Ossuary, the laying of wreaths at the monument to Banja Luka babies, and the laying of wreaths at the memorial place to the former President of the Republic of Srpska, Milan Jelić.

Decorations will be presented to the meritorious institutions and individuals and a session of the Republic of Srpska Senate will also be held.

The Day of the Republic of Srpska will be marked in all towns and municipalities of the Republic of Srpska and representative offices abroad. A cultural-artistic programme will be held in Banja Luka on January 9.

The programme also stipulates traditional marking of the Day of the Republic of Srpska in the Brčko District.
