The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, visited today the “Dental Clinic” Specialist Centre of the Faculty of Medicine in Banja Luka that received a donation of equipment financed from the budget of the President of Srpska.
At the occasion, the President of the Republic said that it is necessary to promote a comprehensive programme of co-operation between medical faculties and dental clinics in Srpska, for which preconditions do exist.
President Cvijanović added that further activities must be implemented in a planned fashion to raise awareness and improve services when it comes to protecting oral health of the population, especially children.
The Republic of Srpska President stated that in this context a targeted and universal action to protect the oral health of pregnant women and preschool children is being pursued.
“This is one of the successful attempts to take the first steps in that direction and to reach this objective,” stated President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic stressed that the “Dental Clinic” in Banja Luka, which was earlier presented with equipment worth 100,000 KM from the funds of the President of Srpska in order to improve working conditions in the institution and promote oral health of the population, looks great, is open to receive everyone, and that its staff is very dedicated to their work.
President Cvijanović assessed that this project, which she fully supports, was implemented in the best possible manner, and recalled that the Healthcare Centre in Banja Luka was also provided with funding from the budget of the President of the Republic for the purchase of similar equipment.
The President of the Republic expressed satisfaction that the “Dental Clinic” is one of the institutions that manage to internationalise and become attractive to specialists from other countries.
“And precisely that was one of the objectives from the outset and I think that in the forthcoming period we shall be able to develop it even further,” said the President of the Republic of Srpska.
