Republic of Srpska President Visits Banja Luka University’s Faculty of Forestry

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, today visited the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Banja Luka.

There is high quality co-operation in place between the Banja Luka University’s Forestry Faculty and the industry, but it is necessary to improve it in order to boost economic development, concluded today’s meeting between the Republic of Srpska President, Željka Cvijanović, ministers in the Government of the Republic of Srpska and representatives of the University.

President Cvijanović noted the necessity of improving the co-operation between the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Banja Luka and the economy, because this would improve the overall situation in society.

“It is very important that the faculty pays very close attention to the appointment of teaching staff, and that we all work together to increase the number of students. It is a known fact that students who graduate from this faculty do not wait for long to find a job,” said the President of Srpska.

President Cvijanović pointed out that it is good that there is a possibility for students of the Faculty of Forestry to progress further and get a job in “Šume Srpske”, which currently employs 4,900 workers.

”Institutions of the Republic of Srpska will take into account the need for additionally improving co-operation between the Faculty of Forestry and the economy. It will be in the function of creating a better business environment and material preconditions for the University of Banja Luka,” concluded the President of the Republic of Srpska.
