Republic of Srpska President Speaks with Secretary of State in Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, spoke today in her office with the Secretary of State in the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Republic of Poland Szymon Szynkowski.

The meeting discussed the current political and economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, the process of European integration, the strengthening of regional co-operation, as well as the current epidemiological situation.

Interlocutors assessed current relations between the Republic of Srpska and Poland as very good, and noted that there are numerous examples of concrete co-operation in different areas with several Polish duchies, but that there is still a lot of room for improvement.

In that context, President Cvijanović expressed her belief that the co-operation with the Republic of Poland and her regions will improve in the coming period, and cited the partnership between the municipality of Prnjavor and the Boleslawiec District as an example of good practice.

The President of the Republic pointed out that European integration and regional co- operation represent a strategic commitment of the institutions of Srpska, and that the experience and support of the Republic of Poland and her experts on this path are extremely valuable and useful for the Republic of Srpska.

Furthermore, President Cvijanović thanked the Republic of Poland for her valuable medical assistance to the Republic of Srpska in the fight against the coronavirus, and named this act of solidarity as another proof of friendship.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to BiH Jaroslaw Lindenberg, and the Ambassador of BiH to Poland Koviljka Špirić.
