The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, met today in her office with the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska, Đorđe Popović, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, Dragan Lukač, and the Acting Director of the Traffic Safety Agency, Novica Krunić.
Interlocutors discussed the need to improve the information and education of children and youth on safety in traffic.
In this context, the Cabinet of the President of the Republic gave its support to the project “Improvement of Road Traffic Education of Children of All Ages in the Republic of Srpska”, which is being implemented by the Traffic Safety Agency under the sponsorship of the President of the Republic.
Attending officials informed President Cvijanović about the objectives of the project, which include getting preschool children and children in primary and secondary schools acquainted with traffic rules.
At the meeting, President Cvijanović pointed out she strongly supports the implementation of this and similar projects, which are especially important for the youngest population and their safety.
The project also envisages the education of teachers and parents on safe participation in road traffic, as well as the construction of traffic practice areas within local traffic sections.
