The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, met today in her office with the Ambassador of Turkey to BiH Haldun Koç.
The meeting, also attended by the newly appointed Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Banja Luka, Oğuz Kılıç, discussed the current economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, and the possibilities of improvement of co-operation between Turkey and Srpska in mutual interest.
Interlocutors assessed that the opening of the Consulate General of Turkey in Banja Luka is an important step for the further improvement of relations and strengthening of co-operation, as well as for the creation of new investment opportunities, primarily in the fields of agriculture, husbandry, healthcare, energy, mining and tourism.
In that context, President Cvijanović expressed full support for the future diplomatic work of the Consulate General of Turkey in Banja Luka, and pointed out that the Republic of Srpska is open to all foreign investors and a favourable destination for business.
The President of the Republic at the occasion also invited investors from Turkey to invest in Srpska, and in that framework emphasised the importance of the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway for stimulating economic development and regional connections.
Interlocutors also exchanged views on the situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
