Republic of Srpska President Sends Condolences over Death of His Holiness Serb Patriarch Irinej

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, sent a telegram of condolences to the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, all archbishops, clergy, monks and faithful Serb Orthodox people over the repose in the lord of His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia.

“With deep grief and sorrow, I received the news of the repose of His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Irinej.

“The departure of His Holiness represents a huge loss and distress for the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Serb people, but also for the entire Christian world.

“Even in the most difficult and challenging of times, he showed the way of peace, justice and wisdom to believers and clergy.

“On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Srpska, as well as on my own behalf, I express my deepest condolences,” reads the telegram by President Cvijanović.
