Republic of Srpska President Meets with Swiss Ambassador to BiH

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović spoke today in her office with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Andrea Rauber Saxer.

The meeting discussed current political and economic topics in the Republic of Srpska and BiH.

Interlocutors also exchanged views and stances on the migrant crisis, in the context of the announced large influx of migrants to this area.

The President informed the Ambassador of Switzerland of the measures being prepared by the Republic of Srpska institutions in view of the possible migrant wave, and assessed that in this context the countries of the region should co-operate more closely.

President Cvijanović and Ambassador Saxer also discussed the Swiss – BiH Co-operation Strategy for 2017-2020, which covers the areas of healthcare, economy, youth employment, judiciary, culture and development.

It was estimated that the Republic of Srpska and Switzerland achieved good results in joint projects in the previous period, and a mutual interest was expressed in creating conditions for improving economic cooperation.
