Republic of Srpska President Željka Cvijanović spoke today in Banja Luka with the Minister of State for Family and Youth Affairs at the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources, Katalin Novák.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that today’s meeting with the Minister of State for Family and Youth Affairs at the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources Katalin Novák, was very constructive, and that priorities were set for continued co-operation and a visit by representatives of several departments of the Government of the Republic of Srpska to Hungary was agreed, so that further co-operation would be more concrete.
“Our meeting of today comes as a result of a previous agreement between the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán and the Serb Member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik discussed at a meeting held in Budapest last June. One of the conclusions from that meeting involves the preparation of a joint action plan, given the willingness of the Hungarian Government to share its experiences in the areas of economy, migration, and family and social policy with the Republic of Srpska,” President Cvijanović told a press conference.
The President of the Republic stressed that it was agreed at the meeting today that a delegation made up of representatives of the competent ministries of Srpska will go on a working visit to Budapest, where they will consider the details in order to implement some of the announced activities.
With regard to demographic policies, human resources and family, as well as social policies, the Republic of Srpska President emphasised that Srpska was particularly interested in the measures that the Hungarian Government has been implementing for some time now, and in particular in the effects and results produced by such measures.
“As you known, we have already announced the implementation of certain measures that will be similar to those existing in Hungary, because it was estimated that they have given good results. As for other areas, the competent ministries of both governments will work together to strengthen economic co-operation, but also in the field of migration,” said the Republic of Srpska President.
The President of the Republic stated that Srpska is fascinated by certain measures of the Hungarian Government, which show how important matters should be dealt with.
President Cvijanović said that she informed her interlocutor about Srpska’s National Programme of Demographic Reconstruction, and pointed out that some of the measures defined by the Hungarian Government will be included in the demographic reconstruction programme of Srpska.
The President of Srpska emphasised that it was a great honour and pleasure to be the host today in Banja Luka to a Hungarian delegation headed by the Minister of State for Family and Youth Affairs at the Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources, Katalin Novák.
