The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, spoke today with the leadership of the City of Prijedor.
The President of the Republic announced that a new kindergarten will be opened in this city, because about 200 children are unable to enrol every year.
President Cvijanović stated that these are funds that can be drawn directly from the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, and emphasised that it is always at disposal for the construction or reconstruction of kindergartens, schools and children’s playgrounds.
“The city administration and the mayor can count on these funds, especially since great needs were expressed in two locations, and it will certainly be something that will be implemented this and the next year,” said the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic of Srpska assessed that in Prijedor there is a strong and developed business community, but also that there are problems present, which are common to entrepreneurs throughout the Republic of Srpska. The President added that the role of both local-level and the Republic’s governments is to work closely with businesspeople to build better conditions in order to create new jobs, facilitate the expansion of activities and capacities.
“Anything that can be done by the Republic’s level will be at the disposal of the local authorities, so that they can overcome the difficulties they are facing. What remains a strategic project here, which I could see for myself while travelling to Prijedor, is definitely the need to build a motorway that will facilitate traffic and enable better communication for both citizens and the economy,” added President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic expressed her satisfaction that the City Administration is determined to ensure a development path and to work closely with the Republic’s institutions that will stand at their service for everything related to the rehabilitation of road infrastructure and other important projects.
“We agreed that we will try to show our support in various combined ways when it comes to the economic sector,” the President of Srpska pointed out.
The President of the Republic of Srpska also announced that meetings will be held with the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and the local administration on the needs of the Hospital “Doctor Mladen Stojanović”, which covers six local communities in the Prijedor region.
“Here the ambition is to enter into a more serious reconstruction and for the Prijedor Hospital to join all other modern hospitals that have either been built or reconstructed throughout the Republic of Srpska,” concluded President Cvijanović.
