Republic of Srpska President Meets with German Ambassador to BiH

The President of the Republika Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, spoke today in her office with the Ambassador of Germany to BiH, Margret Uebber.

President Cvijanović and Ambassador Uebber exchanged views on the current political and economic situation in Srpska and BiH, as well as on the European integration process, with special emphasis on the 14 priorities contained in the Opinion of the European Commission.

It was pointed out at the meeting that Srpska is committed to the European path, under full respect for its position as defined by the Constitution, and in accordance with the rules of the agreed co-ordination mechanism between different levels of government in BiH.

The meeting also discussed the current epidemiological situation, the procurement of coronavirus vaccines, and the implementation of measures and necessary reform processes in order to mitigate the negative effects of the pandemic on the economy.

The interlocutors asserted that Germany is an important foreign trade partner of the Republic of Srpska, and expressed readiness to further improve co-operation in the forthcoming period, both in the field of economy and in numerous other areas.
