Republic of Srpska President Meets with Delegation of Chinese City of Tianjin

The Republic of Srpska President Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with a delegation of the Chinese city of Tianjin, headed by the member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China, Ji Guoqiang.

At the meeting, interlocutors ascertained that there is mutual interest in promoting relations in different fields, with a special emphasis on strengthening economic and cultural ties between Srpska and Tianjin.

At the occasion, President Cvijanović assessed as successful the up-to-now co-operation between institutions of Srpska and the People’s Republic of China and Chinese companies working in the Republic of Srpska, and expressed her expectation that these relations will be further promoted in the forthcoming period.

The Republic of Srpska President also emphasised good co-operation in the fields of culture and education, especially noting the importance of the opening of the Confucius Institute in Banja Luka, as well as of the introduction of Chinese language lessons in primary and secondary schools in Srpska.

Tianjin is one of the most developed and populated cities in China, with over 15 Million inhabitants.
