The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, spoke today with the leadership of the City of Trebinje and attended preparatory classes for high school graduates organised by the City Administration of Trebinje.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture in this city is a priority.

President Cvijanović added that the number of agricultural farms in the city has doubled in the past few years, which means that agriculture is a perspective of this area, in addition to tourism.

“We need to make it possible for our children to go to school here and it will certainly be more stimulating, more of them will enrol this faculty,” noted the President of the Republic.

The President of the Republika Srpska said that Trebinje has a huge development chance, and that this city is always talked about as a pearl that is open to tourists.

President Cvijanović declared that she sees many other development potentials and opportunities in the region, and that the local and Republic of Srpska authorities will turn those opportunities into reality.

The President of Srpska, after attending preparatory classes for secondary school graduates organised by the City Administration of Trebinje, said she was delighted with this project and that it could be a motivating example for other local communities as well.

“We are thinking about organising appropriate preparatory classes for our secondary school students who want to enrol a university, maybe in a different, more systematic way, and thus relieving parental, family budgets from incurring additional expenses,” underlined the President of the Republic.

President Cvijanović believes that this should become an equally important project that should be implemented throughout the Republic of Srpska.

Srpska’s President said that the Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, informed her that the City Administration will expand the list of its scholarship holders, and pointed out that she sees all these efforts as a well-planned development strategy. From organising preparatory classes, issuance of scholarships, to a number of projects involving self-employment and internships, the city authorities are investing significant resources in development and the future.

“There is nothing more elevated and inspiring than investing in children, especially when children transform the investment made into their knowledge and skill through education, and later, as well-trained people, they serve and help the development of society. I am sure Trebinje will have a lot of good and expert people,” concluded the President of the Republic.
