The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, sent a telegram of condolences to His Holiness the Serb Patriarch Irinej, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, the clergy, monks and all believers of the Orthodox faith on the death of Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije Radović.
“With deep sorrow in my heart and great grief, I received the sad news of the death of His Eminence the Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral. Metropolitan Amfilohije will be remembered as a great educator, restorer of church and spiritual life in the area of the metropolis and a dignitary who shared good and bad with his people in the most difficult times. In his works, he left a deep mark in the development of theological thought and the preservation of Orthodoxy both in this regioh and beyond.
“His departure represents an irreparable loss for the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, the Serbian Orthodox Church and all its believers, as well as for the entire Orthodox and Christian world.
On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Srpska and on my personal behalf, I extend to you my deepest condolences,” reads the telegram of condolences of President Cvijanović.
