The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, sent a congratulatory message to the Commander of the Third Infantry (Republic of Srpska) Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH, Brigadier Milorad Кrajšumović, members of the Third Infantry (Republic of Srpska) Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH, and to former members of the Army of the Republic of Srpska.

“On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Srpska and on my own behalf, I convey to you my sincere congratulations on the occasion of Vidovdan [St. Vitus Day] – the Patron Saint Day of the Army of the Republic of Srpska and of the Third Infantry (Republic of Srpska) Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH.

“On this great holiday, synonymous with great suffering, but also with victories and national inspiration, we remember with immense gratitude and special reverence the members of the Army of the Republic of Srpska, those heroes who paved the way to our freedom and built their lives into the foundations of the Republic of Srpska.

“It is the obligation of us all to honour the memory of the army that emerged from the people, to remember its honourable military journey in the past Defence and Patriotic War and the soldiers who heroically defended and preserved their centuries-old hearths and the Republic Srpska, and our right to live freely and in peace.

“Their sacrifice constitutes a lasting obligation for us to protect, defend and build our Republic, the only guarantor of the survival and freedom of the Serb people in this area. Convinced that we shall celebrate each following Vidovdan in an even better and stronger Republic, I congratulate you on this holiday and cordially greet you,” stated President Cvijanović in her congratulatory message.
