Republic of Srpska President Attends Marking of 29 th Anniversary of “Corridor” Operation
The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, attended today in Duga Njiva near Modriča the marking of the 29 th anniversary of the operation “Corridor”.
The President of the Republic pointed out that the strength of the Republic of Srpska is in the unity of her people, proven during the Defence and Patriotic War, but also in times of peace.
The President of Srpska noted that Srpska shows respect for the combatants who defended her and for the victims who gave their lives for her freedom.
“We must be proud of what we have achieved, which is why we need to protect the Republic of Srpska,” stated President Cvijanovic.
The President of Srpska stressed that the Republic of Srpska is integral today, it has an economic and every other kind of life.
Srpska’s President also emphasised that the strength of the Republic is in her unity, which this society managed to prove when many were predicting its collapse during the war, but also many times in peace when some expected and wished its financial demise, that there should be no Srpska anymore, that she would weaken and be unable of politically opposing anyone.
“They wanted us to bow our heads! We never did! We managed to prove it in this crisis, but also earlier, during the severe floods, as well as in the global economic crisis, that we can stay on our feet. We always went forward and moved towards our objectives,” underlined President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic assessed that naivety is very expensive and that the Republic of Srpska must not be naive politically or in any other way.
“Our strength is in coming together, and as long as we do it the way we did here and today, but as we also do on other sites of suffering, it will prove that we remain united,” declared the President of the Republic.
The President of Srpska underscored that the task of every citizen is to protect the Republic of Srpska and to achieve set objectives.
“We do not wish to harm anyone, but we want to be respected. Our priorities are preserving Srpska and the memory of all those who created her, but also of the 12 babies that, unfortunately, were sentenced to death by someone back in 1992,” stressed the President of the Republic.
President Cvijanović added that none of those who took part in breaking through the “Corridor” should be forgotten, and noted that the Republic of Srpska is the guarantor of freedom.
“Which is why I invite you to come together! Let us be united and protect our free Republic of Srpska!” concluded the President.
