Republic of Srpska President Attends Ceremony Marking Republic of Srpska Police Day

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, today, on occasion of the marking the Day of the Republic of Srpska Police, attended the memorial service and the wreath-laying ceremony at the Central Memorial to the Killed and Missing Members of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska.

The President of Srpska said that the police of the Republic of Srpska are the only armed and uniformed force in the Republic and one of its basic pillars and supports.

President Cvijanović pointed out that gratitude is owed today to all members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior who laid their lives for the Republic and fought side by side with the Army of the Republic of Srpska, defending freedom, this area and all values pertaining to this people.

“Our obligation in the future is to additionally build the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior in a material sense and to help in every possible way so they can continue their development,” stated the President of the Republic.

President Cvijanović stressed that she is proud of what the Republic of Srpska police did during the defence of the Republic, as well as during the post-war development.

The President of Srpska added that she is sure that Republic of Srpska citizens will also be proud of what the police are going to do in future.

President Cvijanović congratulated all members of the Ministry of Interior on the Day of the Republic of Srpska Police, which is a great holiday for everyone in Srpska.

“I would like to see policing duties and services go by without any major challenges, but unfortunately, we live in such a time and place that we must always count on those additional challenges – from the migrant crisis to global threats such as terrorism,” declared the President of the Republic.

President Cvijanović noted that, by participating in numerous international actions, the Republic of Srpska Police demonstrated their abilities and that they can go hand in hand with the police forces of the most developed countries in the world.
