The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, attended today in Mrkonjić Grad the celebration of the Patron Saint Day of the Republic of Srpska Alliance of Military Personnel Disabled in the War – Saint Panteleimon.

The Republic of Srpska President stated that the Government of Srpska, headed by Prime Minister Radovan Višković, is committed to work on improving the status of war veterans, pensioners, agricultural producers and all groups in society.

“This means that we have to strengthen the economic basis. I will always be supportive of requests coming from organisations linked to the defensive and motherland war. Their requests are justified, but we shall take good consideration that we progress slowly so that we do not endanger other budget beneficiaries,” said President Cvijanović at the marking of the Patron Saint Day of the Alliance of Military Personnel Disabled in the War of the Republic of Srpska – Saint Pantaleimon.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stressed that she believes in a better tomorrow and that requests coming from NGOs linked to the defensive and motherland war will be resolved in the institutions of the Republic of Srpska. The President of Srpska assessed that the up-to-now co-operation between Srpska’s institutions and the Alliance of Military Personnel Disabled in the War of the Republic of Srpska was good.

“I traditionally mark the Patron Saint Day of the Republic of Srpska Alliance of Military Personnel Disabled in the War together with their members, we together sum up achieved results and agree on the agenda for the future,” stressed President Cvijanović. President Cvijanović recalled that the Government of Srpska, together with organisations originating from the defensive and motherland war implemented their planned goals.

“In the course of the year we have increased the war veterans’ bonuses, bases for family and personal payments for disablement, and I am especially proud that, together with the Alliance, we managed to resolve the problem connected to orthopaedic aid, as requested by the organisation.

It is also significant that we have implemented housing and accommodation projects for these categories,” recalled the President of the Republic of Srpska.
