Reaction of the President of the Republic of Srpska to the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH

Reaction of the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović to the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH:

“The decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH, which tries to challenge the ownership of forests to the Republic of Srpska, represents a coup d’etat and another anti-Dayton attack on Srpska and its constitutionally defined competencies.

An unconstitutional attempt of the gradual centralisation of BiH, by an institution for which the Dayton Constitution should be sacred, irreversibly destroys both the trust among the peoples of BiH and the very foundations on which it rests on.

What kind of rule of law can we talk about if the institution in charge of protecting constitutionality continuously violates this principle on which all modern and orderly countries of the world rest on?

By respecting the constitutional order of BiH, as well as its highest legal act, the Republic of Srpska shall protect its property and return issues to the constitutional framework by appropriate decisions of its institutions, repairing the damage caused by unconstitutional actions or decisions of high representatives or the Constitutional Court of BiH.”
