Today, the presidents of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik and Serbia Aleksandar Vučić laid wreaths at the memorial on Petrovačka cesta on the occasion of commemorating the Day of Remembrance of all Serbs who died and were exiled in the armed action “Storm”.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the Serbs killed on the Petrovačka cesta will never be forgotten.
The President Dodik pointed out that no statesman has ever been to this place of suffering of Serbs in the Second World War and in the past, but that today the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and himself are there to encourage the completion of the planned building near the monument and that everyone knew what happened here – that Serbian civilians were killed there for no reason.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that on Petrovačka cesta, the suffering of the Serb people in the Second World War is commemorated today, it was repeated in 1995, when Serbs were killed in an identical manner.
“We witness to the fact that Serbia is stronger today and helped by Serbia like never before”, it was stressed by the President Dodik.
The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that the four municipalities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina where the majority Serb population is generously supported by funds from Serbia and Srpska and that this will be continued in the future.
The presidents of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia also visited the complex with a memorial chapel, which is being built in memory of the Serbian refugees who were killed by Croatian aviation on Petrovačka cesta in the village of Janjila during the “Storm” action 28 years ago.
The Presidents of Srpska and Serbia visited the complex accompanied by His Eminence Bishop Sergije of Bihać and Petrovac, as well as numerous officials of neighboring municipalities.
