President of the Republic of Srpska visits works on the section of the “January 9” Highway Banja Luka – Doboj in Toviri near Doboj

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović visited today the works on the section of the “January 9” Highway Banja Luka – Doboj in Toviri near Doboj.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that the construction of the highway on the Corridor “Vc” in Toviri near Doboj is one of the strategic projects which represents a great development opportunity of Srpska while connecting all parts of the Republic with the highways.

The President Cvijanović stressed that she is satisfied with the dynamics and timing of the works as well as the implementation of this project in the Republic of Srpska.

“This is one of the strategic projects and I am glad that it will deliver the expected results. Without good highways and developed infrastructure we cannot expect to have tourists and economy”, said the President of the Republic.

The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that Srpska needs further development, and that there are still many infrastructure projects to be implemented in Srpska.

The President Cvijanović recalled that in the transport strategy of the Republic of Srpska, it was agreed that this highway should connect with Serbia, that it is planned to build freeways and highways in the eastern part of Srpska and to reach the south of Srpska.

“In the next five to six years, for a maximum of ten years, I am certain that all the projects will be in implementation, some of them initiated and some will be arranged”, said the President of the Republic.

The President of the Republic of Srpska has expressed gratitude for this and other projects to the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Lars – Gunnar Wigemark and the Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development / EBRD / to BiH Ian Brown, who worked together with all the institutions of Srpska and the Government to implement these projects.

The President Cvijanović recalled that this project is an integral part of the linking agenda within BiH and the entire BiH with the region and the EU.
