President of the Republic of Srpska visits two primary schools in Prijedor

Today, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović visited the Elementary School “Dositej Obradović” in Prijedor settlement of Pećani, where the works of repairing the floors in school classrooms were successfully completed, as supported by the city businessmen and the Office of the President.

The President Cvijanović expressed satisfaction that this action of parents of students, schools and city businessmen, which was also supported by the Office of the President of the Republic of Srpska, was successfully completed by joint efforts.

“We are happiest when we do what is good for our children and educators who need to do their job in adequate conditions. With all the problems caused by the Coronavirus, we must not allow others to suffer as well”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic thanked the businessmen for deciding to activate funds and get involved in this action in order to provide better conditions for the students of this school.

The President Cvijanović pointed out that there is a clear intention to adapt and reconstruct all schools throughout the Republic of Srpska in all municipalities and cities, including rural zones.

“It is going slowly and we have done a lot in the past 10-12 years. We still have a long way to go since we have many schools and many needs”, said the President of the Republic, adding that funds from the President’s Office shall be available as it has been the case so far when it comes to such good tasks.

The President of Srpska pointed out that the focus is on Prijedor and on everything that needs to be done in central and regional schools.

The President Cvijanović also visited the “Petar Kočić” Elementary School in the Urije settlement in Prijedor.

The President of the Republic pointed out that the reconstruction of this school is a great undertaking, and that this educational institution justified the trust, which is why it was nominated for a donation coming from the Government of Serbia.

“When we see this interior design and the sports contents, we see that this school deserves not only our attention but also every praise”, said the President Cvijanović after visiting the Elementary School “Petar Kočić” for which interior and exterior design a donation of 200,000 Euros was allocated by the Government of Serbia.

The President of the Republic pointed out that she was happy with the fact that she had the opportunity to help repair the sanitary facilities in this school, and that this new arrangement will also help the well-being of children.

“We have some contents here that other schools do not have, which will mean a lot for the development of our children, but also for the overall organisation of classes. We also need sports fields that will be available to the local community”, it was added by the President Cvijanović.
