On the occasion of marking the World Oral Health Day, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović visited the Specialist Centre “Dental Clinic” of the Medical Faculty of the University of Banja Luka today.

The President of the Republic said that 100,000 BAM were allocated from the budget of the President of the Republic for the purchase of dental chairs and equipment for the Specialist Centre “Dental Clinic” of the Medical Faculty of the University of Banja Luka, with the aim of improving the working conditions of this centre and improving the oral health of the population.

“It is a great pleasure, since, as the Prime Minister before, and now as the President of the Republic, I can support the work of this clinic, with the aim of improving the oral health of the population”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic pointed out that it is of utmost importance that special attention has been paid to the oral health of children and pregnant women.

“When I was the Prime Minister, at one of the Government sessions, we received information that a large number of children up to three years of age had tooth decay, and that 90 percent of pregnant women do not have the habit of going to the dentist. After that, we supplied the Polyclinic and schools in Banja Luka with dental chairs and machines, and the continuation of this programme is in this centre”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska has invited citizens to use the services of the “Dental Clinic”. “The support I give to these activities fits into the programme we are implementing, and it involves the care for the children and pregnant women. We are doing this within the framework of a programme for strengthening and better demographic image of the Republic of Srpska”, said the President Cvijanović.
