President of the Republic of Srpska visits the construction site of the kindergarten in Obudovac and the Elementary School “Obudovac”

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović visited the construction site of the kindergarten in Obudovac and the Elementary School “Obudovac”.

The President of the Republic of Srpska announced that the elementary school in this place will be reconstructed, with the assistance from Serbia that has already been provided in the amount to 100,000 BAM.

During the visit to the Elementary School “Obudovac”, the President has said that these funds shall now be used as priority for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the sanitary, but that there is a need to renovate the carpentry and the roof, which will be done with the support of the Government of the Republic of Srpska.

“We have agreed to make a comprehensive reconstruction here so that children would have better living and working conditions, as well as their teachers”, said the President Cvijanović, adding that it is always possible to allocate the funds necessary for schools and kindergartens from the budget of the President.

The President of Srpska pointed out that the school in Obudovac is a good example according to the results it achieved.

During the visit to the kindergarten under construction in Obudovac, the President of the Republic of Srpska reminded that the Government of Srpska provided 200,000 BAM for this facility last year, and in that way efforts were made to resolve the issue of children’s stay in preschool institutions.

According to the President, the kindergarten would receive 50 children, and if necessary, the capacities can hopefully be expanded.

“We all are working hard, but the pleasure is that here in Šamac we can talk about combining and pooling funds, starting from the time of floods when we also had significant investments from Serbia when another school was reconstructed, which is a completely modern building today”, said the President of Srpska.

The President of the Republic added that this was a combination of funds from the Government of Srpska and Serbia, as well as funds coming from the public investments and the budget of the President of Srpska.

The President Cvijanović said that in the previous period the Republic of Srpska invested more than 100 million BAM in primary education through the renovation and rehabilitation of buildings.

The President of Srpska pointed out that in recent months she as the President of the Republic, together with her team in charge of this field, visited many village schools throughout the Republic of Srpska and that they registered the first group of schools to be renovated.

“There are many more needs. There are rural schools that no one has ever visited, which are in a rather poor condition. We have decided these to be priorities”, it was concluded by the President Cvijanović.
