Today, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović visited Semberija ethno household in Crnjelovo.
The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that this extraordinary project in Bijeljina connects the past with what the Serb people are today and announced the continuation of support for this and similar projects from the Office of the President of the Republic.
“I am pleased since the Office of the Republic of Srpska President has repeatedly helped all important projects at the local level, and one of them is this ethno household project. My obligation is to support this and similar projects at the local level in the next period as well”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic pointed out that future generations should understand the past and nurture tradition.
“I express my gratitude to the clergy and members of the Circle of Serbian Sisters for the welcome, as well as the opportunity to visit the church and this ethnic household. I think this is a great project that should connect everything that happened in the past with everything that we are today and intend to be in the future”, said the President Cvijanović.
According to the President of Srpska, Semberija ethno household will enrich the tourist offer of the Republic of Srpska.
“I hope that, when this storm of the corona virus and everything that has happened to us at the moment passes, this will be a place that tourists will be happy to visit, and it is up to us to promote every such good local initiative”, it was concluded by the President Cvijanović.
With the folk customs of Semberija region, the President of the Republic was welcomed by the children in traditional costumes, customarily with salt and bread, and members of the Circle of Serbian Sisters “St. Angelina Srpska”, who are implementing this project of creating an open-air museum in the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Crnjelovo, and presented the President of Srpska with everything that has been done so far.
