President of the Republic of Srpska spoke with State Secretary Merilend and President of the House of Delegates of the State of Maryland

Republika Srpska President Zeljka Cvijanovic, during her visit to the United States of America, met Secretary of State Maryland John Vobensmitt and Speaker of the Merilend State House of the State of Maryland Adrian Jones.

On this occasion, the interlocutors assessed that there is a possibility, as well as a common interest, to increase the cooperation of Srpska and Merilenda to a higher level, especially in the fields of health, education and environmental protection.

The meeting expressed satisfaction with the good cooperation between Srpska and Merilend in the field of health, based on the protocol on cooperation signed by the University Hospital John Hopkins and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska.

During a meeting with Merilend officials, the President of Republika Srpska pointed out that BiH is a decentralized state, and that the presupposition of its functioning and political stability is the cooperation of various levels of government, and the legitimate representation of all three constituent peoples at a common level.

After the meeting, state secretary Vobersmit met President Cvijanovic with the history and tradition of Merilend, as well as with the management and decision-making in this US federal state.
