The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to BiH Johanna Strömquist and discussed the current political and economic situation in Srpska and BiH, the process of the European integration and the challenges BiH faces on its European path.

Speaking on political situation in BiH, the President of the Republic of Srpska highlighted that the main problem was that, even after thirteen months since the elections, a new convocation of the Council of Ministers, as well as the government at the level of the Federation of BiH, had not been formed and added that the implementation of electoral and democratic will of the citizens cannot be the subject to political conditioning.

The Republic of Srpska President stressed that blocking the government formation process has hindered the progress of BiH on the European path, and at the same time halted numerous reform and development processes on which institutional and political stability depend as well as the living standard of the citizens of both entities.

On this occasion, the President Cvijanović welcomed the Ambassador Strömquist to BiH and expressed expectation that good cooperation between the institutions of Srpska and the Kingdom of Sweden would be additionally improved in the coming period.
