President of the Republic of Srpska presented the apartment keys to 14 families of fallen soldiers and war invalids

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović presented today the apartment keys to 14 families of fallen soldiers and war invalids in Prnjavor. Therefore, the project of housing care for war veteran categories in this municipality has been completed.

The value of the works amounts to 392.237 BAM. The building construction was financed by the Ministry of Labor, War Veterans and Disabled Persons’ Protection of the Republic of Srpska. The Municipality of Prnjavor participated with 220.000 BAM in the project by providing location, building permit and certificate of occupancy, technical documentation and building infrastructure.

The President Cvijanović said that this was a great project with certain financial burdens, and it has been implemented in the past 10 years.

“There is another number of families here deserving to be housed. They were not included in this programme but will be gradually, as it is the case with other municipalities throughout the Republic of Srpska, some of them were included individually or at a regional level”, said the President of the Republic.

The President of Srpska added that it was always a pleasure when institutions were able to do an important job for the citizens of the Republic of Srpska.

“We started this project in times before the global crisis, with a lot of optimism that everything shall be completed quickly and easily. However, difficult years that followed and the financial pressures on Srpska were burdensome, but I am satisfied since the implementation of this programme has never stopped. Over the past 10 years, many housing units have been built throughout the Republic of Srpska, and there have also been a lot of financial aid beneficiaries”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that today’s event would mean a new beginning for these families.

“The Government of the Republic of Srpska will continue to work. It is important that we are together, because when we are together, then we can do everything”, it was said by the President of Srpska.
