President of the Republic of Srpska organised a reception for judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović organised today a reception for judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Srpska in the Palace of the Republic on the occasion of 25 years of work of this judicial institution.

During the reception, which was attended by the Constitutional Court President Džerard Selman, it was stated that, since its foundation, the Court has been an important institutional support of Srpska and that its primary task is to protect the constitutional order and the legal system of the Republic of Srpska.

On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska congratulated the 25th anniversary of the institution to the President and the judges of the Constitutional Court, emphasizing that this jubilee was another indication that Srpska functioned on the principles of constitutionality and legality even before it was internationally verified by the Dayton Peace Agreement.

The President Cvijanović highlighted that the Constitutional Court has made an immeasurable contribution to the construction and preservation of the Republic of Srpska and its constitutional and legal order, and stressed that respect for the highest judicial authority embodied in this institution is a prerequisite for strengthening the legal state and the rule of law in the Republic of Srpska.
