President of the Republic of Srpska opens the works on the beginning of the construction of a new bridge over the river Vrbas in Dolac

Today, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović and the Mayor of Banja Luka Igor Radojičić opened the works on the beginning of the construction of the new and largest bridge over the Vrbas River in Dolac, which will cost 7.5 million BAM and connect the city centre with Obilićevo and Starčevica.

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović stated that the bridge over the river Vrbas in the Banja Luka settlement of Dolac will be a symbol of Banja Luka as the capital and administrative centre of Srpska.

“When finished, it will be a reflection and something that big world and European cities could be proud of. Thus, Banja Luka will be recognizable for its bridge. We are doing this for some future times and this is a joint project that shows that we are strong and that we can withstand all challenges and crises”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized that it is important that the authorities of Banja Luka and Srpska do not fail in terms of development, and that the city on the Vrbas is committed to building, beautifying and repairing in that direction for years.

“Every part of Banja Luka has been improved and my support has always been there and will be available to the Mayor and his people who work diligently to leave a mark in every part of the city and make projects that will serve in the future. So, the construction of the bridge shows that we have a vision and professional people who can respond to such challenges, knowing that Banja Luka is a huge resource”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic reiterated that everything that needs to be done bears the stamp of domestic wisdom, and to prove that the city government, but also all those gathered today, have a vision of how Banja Luka and Srpska should develop.

“In the next period, we have ambitious plans, because Banja Luka deserves such plans. So, all our plans and all visions related to Banja Luka in the future are quite ambitious and we will certainly carry them out”, it was pointed out by the President of the Republic.

The President of the Republic of Srpska assessed that the beginning of the construction of the new bridge is a great day for Banja Luka, and expressed satisfaction that the conceptual design of the bridge is the work of local experts and their creativity.

“Congratulations go to the team that managed to make a project like this one and win the competition”, said the President Cvijanović.
