President of the Republic of Srpska opens the Centre for Scientific Research and Ecology in Tjentište

Today, the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović, together with the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Johann Sattler and the Sutjeska National Park Director Dejan Pavlović, opened the Centre for Scientific Research and Ecology in this national park in Tjentište.

Thanking the EU for its assistance in the implementation of this project, the President Cvijanović pointed out that all cross-border cooperation projects, including this project to support the preservation of natural heritage, bring great benefits not only to the Republic of Srpska but also to all local communities involved in the cross-border cooperation network.

The President of the Republic of Srpska emphasized the importance of intensive development of NP “Sutjeska” which, in addition to providing a chance for scientific research and job creation in the complex of this park, provides special opportunities for socialising and entertainment to the young people, primarily through the internationally famous music festival “OK Fest”.

“I express great satisfaction since today we have the opportunity to open this centre that will serve to the science, research and ecology, so everything that is important for the future and everything else that fits so brilliantly into this wonderful natural treasure”, said the President Cvijanović.

According to the President of the Republic, there are now ideal conditions for work and accommodation of researchers and scientists, which is enabled by the implementation of this cross-border project and the connection of key institutions, the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, as well as with the EU support.

The President of Srpska stressed that the National Park Sutjeska is open to all people of good will, tourists, scientists and young people, who will certainly improve the development of Foča, as a local community, with their arrival and engagement.

The President of the Republic of Srpska reminded that the Government of Srpska has invested a lot of funds and efforts to revitalise the National Park Sutjeska, to repair the facilities and to initiate many cultural and sports events.
