The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the Director of the United States Agency for International Development to BiH (USAID) Nancy Eslick.
The current activities carried out by the USAID mission in the Republic of Srpska, with particular emphasis on programmes related to education, including the project “Enhancing and Advancing Basic Learning and Education in BiH” and establishment of STEM classrooms were discussed at the meeting.
The President Cvijanović stressed that the Republic of Srpska institutions are firmly committed to the reform of education system with the aim of improving and modernising it.
The President of the Republic pointed out that the Republic of Srpska’s development opportunity is related to education, and that the young generations should be directed to acquire the knowledge needed for the professions of the future and adapted to the contemporary labor market needs.
The President Cvijanović expressed her full support for all USAID programmes being implemented in the Republic of Srpska, specifically with regard to the projects in the education sector, as well as programmes to encourage entrepreneurship among youth.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Education and Culture Natalija Trivić and the Minister for Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society Srđan Rajčević.
