The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the representatives of the Union of Students of the Republic of Srpska and the Student Parliament of the University of East Sarajevo.
Plans, activities and priorities of the student organisations in the coming period were discussed at the meeting, as well as current issues in the field of higher education, enrollment policy, student rights and standards.
On this occasion, student representatives invited the President of the Republic to participate in the student conference entitled “Thirty years since the founding of the Republic of Srpska and the University of East Sarajevo”.
The President Cvijanović pointed out that she supports every good initiative that comes from the student representatives and welcomed the organisation of a three-day conference which, as announced, will gather 500 students from public universities in the Republic of Srpska.
The President Cvijanović emphasized that investing in science and education is the safest investment in the future of the Republic of Srpska, and expressed the firm commitment of institutions to improve the quality and development of higher education, student standards and their position.
