The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today with the representatives of the Association of parents of prematurely born children in the Republic of Srpska “Mrvice”, on whose initiative, within this year’s humanitarian campaign “To Brave Hearts With Love”, funds will be raised for establishing the first Human Milk Bank in the Republic of Srpska.

On this occasion, the interlocutors pointed out the importance of raising awareness of the needs of premature babies, and expressed confidence that this year’s humanitarian campaign will be successfully implemented.

The first Human Milk Bank in Srpska will be established within the Clinic for Children’s Diseases of the University Clinical Centre of the Republic of Srpska, and the basic intention is to provide donated human milk to prematurely born and seriously ill children, who do not have access to the breast milk.

As a part of the campaign, in the period from December 1 to December 31, 2020, the m:tel humanitarian number 1411 will be active. By calling this number, citizens will have the opportunity to support the campaign with 1 BAM and thus give their contribution to the overall campaign.

For the payment of donations from individuals and legal entities, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Srpska has opened a special purpose account “To Brave Hearts With Love”, No.: 571-010-00002700-15 at Komercijalna banka a.d. Banja Luka.

Due to the current epidemiological situation in the Republic of Srpska, it will not be possible to hold a donor evening in the form of a large gathering in Banski dvor, so an appropriate television programme will be organised on that occasion this year.

The television programme, as the central event of the humanitarian campaign “To Brave Hearts With Love”, will be broadcast on December 27, 2020 on the first programme of the Radio Television of the Republic of Srpska and on the Alternative Television. All television stations expressing a desire to give their contribution to the humanitarian action through the broadcasting of a television programme, will be enabled to download the signal.
