President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the representatives of the Association of Festivals of the Republic of Srpska

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the representatives of the Association of Festivals of the Republic of Srpska and discussed the challenges that the organisers of these events are facing in the context of the global Coronavirus pandemic.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska Alen Šeranić, the current epidemiological situation in Srpska was discussed, as well as potential solutions for organising festivals and other similar events at the local and national level.

The interlocutors jointly assessed that these are significant events that stimulate economic development and increase revenues in numerous sectors, particularly in the field of tourism and catering.

On this occasion, the President Cvijanović supported the initiative of the Association of Festivals of the Republic of Srpska to look for solutions that would enable the organisation of these events, following the example of countries in the region, so that Srpska would not remain isolated regarding the prohibition.
