The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik met today in Banja Luka with the representative for the composition of the new Government of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković.
The President Dodik said that he referred the decision on granting the mandate to Radovan Višković to the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska.
„In accordance with the constitutional powers, I gave the mandate to Radovan Višković. After consultations with the parliamentary parties, it is certain that there is a qualified majority for the election of the new convocation of the Government”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.
The President of Srpska pointed out that Višković showed the quality and ability to lead the Government in complex and difficult circumstances.
The President Dodik said that he will request the Government the ministers to work diligently to further strengthen the institutions of Srpska and respond to economic and social issues.
During the previous four years, Višković held the office of Prime Minister in very challenging times where we lost two years in the fight against the corona virus. There were also constant political challenges. The motive for leaving him as the Prime Minister was his attitude and work to deal with challenges such as the fight to preserve jobs. He showed his willingness to work hard in preserving economic activities”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska.
According to the President of Srpska, the joint work of the President and the new Government of the Republic of Srpska shall be a priority.
“Appreciating the complexity of the situation in the region and globally, we need a government that will have to respond to all challenges, and I am a witness that Višković can provide full unity. While respecting the parliamentary majority, I will request the Government to ensure that the ministers work on strengthening institutions, to solve many challenges, economic and social issues, as well as people’s safety, and to provide energy and food products”, said the President Dodik.
The President of Srpska pointed out that the financial situation in Srpska is stable, but it can be threatened by events in the environment.
