President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the President of the Republic of Serbia

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in Belgrade with the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Republic of Srpska thanked the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić for his awareness to the importance of the existence of the Republic of Srpska and said he would find a good partner with her.

“I shall try to be a good partner of yours. I know how to appreciate the common values ​​and I shall try to work together whenever possible. I understand the burden BiH is carrying, but we should all handle such situation with due attention”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic pointed out that she was interested in the stability of the Republic of Srpska and prosperity, and noted that she knew that it was necessary to invest a lot of efforts not only in building infrastructure and improving the economic situation, but also in demographic renewal and strengthening of the national identity.

The President Cvijanović said that she and the people of Srpska perceived Serbia as a role model and the strongest support.

The President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that the President of Serbia helped Srpska at the key moment and that, as someone who led the government in difficult times, she would never stop appreciating the financial support to Srpska provided by the President Vučić, thus saving the Republic of Srpska.

“I am infinitely grateful to you for that and I would like to thank you on behalf of the citizens for all the wonderful projects you have implemented in the Republic of Srpska. On behalf of Serbia and its people, the same people and brotherly relations, you have left an indelible mark there. People are proud to mention your name, your institutions and projects you have implemented there, since you know many of them bear the name Serbia”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska said that she was ready to implement the reforms and announced the launching of the national programme for the revival of the Republic of Srpska and added that she would appreciate any kind of support and that she was also certain that such support would come from the President Vučić and from the institutions of Serbia.

Предсједница Републике Српске изјавила је да је добила разумијевање и подршку од предсједника Србије Александра Вучића на првом званичном састанку од преузимања нове функције.

“Захвална сам за разумијевање, за подршку коју смо добили. Пренијећу грађанима Републике Српске да је ово био важан, угодан и користан састанак и да сам одушевљена и тиме што и предсједник Вучић показује опредијељеност да заједно радимо на свим изазовима са којима смо суочени и у Републици Српској и у Србији и важно је да будемо заједно”, рекла је предсједница Цвијановић новинарима послије састанка.

Предсједница Републике је истакла да је посебно радује и осјећа захвалност због тога што је предсједник Вучић препознао важност и потребу успостављања националног програма демографске обнове Републике Српске и што ће Србија бити партнер Српској, њеним институцијама и свима онима који буду укључени у овај програм.

Предсједница Цвијановић је навела да је добила потврду да ће Србија и Република Српска наставити да сарађују и када је ријеч о стратешким инфраструктурним пројектима и да ће Србија бити присутна и помоћи да се реализују ти пројекти.

„Наставиће се програми подршке када је ријеч о односу према нашим општинама, грађанима и оно што је важно јесте да морамо стално да показујемо и да градимо сарадњу на сваком другом плану”, рекла је предсједница Српске.

Предсједница Републике Српске подсјетила је да је, када је преузела ову функцију, рекла да је сасвим природно и логично да прва званична посјета буде у Србији и разговор са предсједником Србије, што се и десило.

Предсједница Републике је навела да је на састанку рекла предсједнику Вучићу да Србија за Републику Српску представља ослонац и упориште.

“Рекла сам да смо загледани у све оно што се дешава овдје, повезани многим стварима. Оно што је важно јесте да је Србија препознала потребу да води рачуна и о Републици Српској, не угрожавајући било кога у оквиру БиХ, узимајући у обзир апсолутно шта јесте БиХ”, рекла је предсједница Цвијановић.
