President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Northern Macedonia

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today with the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Northern Macedonia Branko Azeski.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that at the meeting with the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Northern Macedonia, the opportunities and chances of the development of the energy sector of Srpska were presented, as well as the commitment to additional integration within the region for faster and stronger development.

“We need to have good political understanding and good economic ties, and we are all determined to integrate within the region and see what our common opportunities are, which means enhanced cooperation and good infrastructure”, said the President of the Republic.

“What is of interest as a basis for better economic cooperation or economic activities is the interest in our infrastructure projects, which will enable faster flow of goods, but will also mean a better communication link for our citizens”, it was added by  the President of Srpska.

The President of the Republic emphasized that efforts would be made to upgrade cooperation, so that Northern Macedonia would be even more a partner of Srpska within the agricultural fairs.

“Srpska has a tradition here. One of those fairs is the fair in Bijeljina, which is held in September, and which is of a regional character and gathers exhibitors from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic of Srpska stated that an effort was made to realise what are the potentials of new opportunities for cooperation.

“There are many areas where we can work together. These are experienced people in the business sphere who recognise the potentials in the Republic of Srpska and are determined to work together with us to have more joint investors who will operate from Srpska in Northern Macedonia and vice versa“, said the President of Srpska.

The President of the Republic added that the focus will also be on how the Chamber of Commerce in Northern Macedonia is organised, i.e. the focus will be on digitalisation and the connections they have made within the business.

“This is an opportunity to get acquainted with the business conditions and what are potentially some of our chances”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska stated that the role of the chamber system in creating certain legal solutions is recognised in Northern Macedonia, adding that she transferred good practices from Srpska, such as constructive dialogue between social partners – trade unions, chambers of commerce and employers.

“In this way, we come to something that is the best solution in these challenging times”, said the President of the Republic.
