The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the newly appointed Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in BiH Manuela Naessl.
The cooperation between the Republic of Srpska and this international financial institution, as well as plans for the coming period were discussed at the meeting, attended by the current EBRD BiH Head Ian Brown.
The President Cvijanović briefed the interlocutors about the current issues in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, as well as reform activities carried out in numerous fields.
The interlocutors pointed out that the cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Srpska and the EBRD has been very successful so far, particularly when it comes to supporting infrastructure projects, the energy, banking sectors and environmental protection.
The President Cvijanović expressed her expectation that successful cooperation, through the implementation of joint projects, would be continued in the forthcoming period, and assessed that the establishment of government at all levels in BiH was a necessary condition for the continuation of the implementation of strategically important projects. On this occasion, the President Cvijanović wished welcome and work success to the newly appointed EBRD Head Naessl and thanked her predecessor Brown for his engagement over the past five years.
