President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the newly appointed Head of the EU Delegation to BiH

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the newly appointed Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Johann Sattler.

On this occasion, the President Cvijanović briefed her interlocutor on the political and economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, as well as the current stagnation in the European integration process, which was caused by the fact that a year after the elections, government has not been formed at all levels in BiH.

At the meeting, it was stated that it was necessary to immediately form a new convocation of the Council of Ministers, as well as the government at the level of the Federation of BiH, in order to ensure harmonised and coherent actions by all competent institutions in BiH, which is a prerequisite for a more efficient implementation of reform processes, as well as for progress on the European path.

During the meeting, the President Cvijanović expressed strong commitment of the Republic of Srpska`s institutions towards the European integrations and emphasized that this process must be continued in accordance with the principles and rules of the harmonised coordination mechanism and with full respect for the constitutional competencies of all levels of government in BiH.

The President of the Republic of Srpska welcomed the new Head of the EU Delegation and wished him success in BiH. Also, the President of Srpska expressed hope that the good cooperation between the institutions of Srpska and the Delegation of the European Union to BiH would be continued in the future.
