The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today with the management of the company “Airports of the Republic of Srpska”.
The President of the Republic of Srpska announced additional investments in Banja Luka Airport with the aim to increase the number of passengers and wrapping up investments concerning cargo traffic.
“Our ambition is to constantly increase the number of passengers. I believe that the good cooperation with the company Ryanair will be continued, regarding the introduction of new flights which would be important for Srpska and municipalities surrounding Banja Luka Airport”, said the President Cvijanović.
According to the President of the Republic, with the completion of the bridge on the River Sava in Gradiška, it can be expected that a large number of passengers from Croatia will use “Banja Luka” Airport.
“All this means a lot for economy and tourism. Our priority was to facilitate the arrival of the Diaspora and I believe that we shall complete many of the things that we initiated. It is our ambition to work on expanding the capacities of the airport building, which must include additional contents, which we will do in stages. I have suggested to the management of the company to draft a study and define everything that needs to be done, including the infrastructure, since the issue of passengers arrival from Mahovljani interchange directly to the airport must be resolved”, said the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic stated that the intention of Srpska was to increase the number of services, which means a lot of private initiatives from the local communities.
