The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today with the leadership of the municipality of Ugljevik.
The President of the Republic said that there would be no development of local communities if there was no good cooperation with the republican authorities and announced the continuation of investments from the Office of the President in school facilities and a joint support to improve living conditions in rural areas.
The President Cvijanović said that the meeting with the municipal leadership was about traffic infrastructure, and added that the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Ćorić should visit Ugljevik soon.
The President of Srpska stated that the municipality benefits greatly from the Thermal Power Plant, considering that a large part of the local budget funds came from the rent from that company, which is a large employer and because of which this area functions in a stable way.
“We were interested in how things are progressing when it comes to the rehabilitation and adaptation of certain school buildings. The Mayor informed me that they are, more or less, in good condition, and that there are mostly rural schools here that work well. It is also our concern that living conditions in rural areas improve or equalise with the living conditions of people in urban areas. We work together on that task”, said the President of the Republic.
The President Cvijanović emphasized that in the following period, there will be allocations from the Office of the President of the Republic for school facilities.
“I am happy that new places are being opened in the kindergarten, which is necessary for the local community with a solid number of employed people”, said the President of Srpska.
