President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the leadership of Doboj

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today with the leadership of the City of Doboj.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that until last year, the Government of Srpska invested about 120 million BAM in this local community on various bases, and last year only it provided about 1,5 million BAM for the local road infrastructure.

The President Cvijanović stressed that the implementation of the projects in Doboj continues, but that in the coming period the accent should be on training of local economic capacities that will be supported by the republican authorities.

The President of the Republic emphasized that for all this there must be a “clutch” of power in Doboj with the Government of Srpska.

“We have agreed on several important issues, among which is the continuation of projects that were previously planned. When it comes to infrastructure, there will be Government support, as it was before”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of Srpska stated that today they talked about ways of using capacities that can serve to the revival of Doboj economy and assessed that this local community has the potential to do so.

“There are city demands to transfer certain capacities or land from the Republic to the local community for launching of certain activities”, said the President Cvijanović and announced the support to such projects.

The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the implementation of the announced projects, as well as the construction of a new hospital and the protection of the city from floods, is still ongoing, as well as the work on new projects such as construction of a business industrial zone with regard to the highway and infrastructure facilities that have already been built.

“During today’s meeting we have insisted particularly on how to create conditions for strengthening the economic life in Doboj and support to local initiatives. I have briefed participants about some of the new features that are now possible when it comes to support of start-up to start with business. You have also noticed that our Employment Service has taken certain support measures, even up to 50,000 BAM to those who are starting or running some jobs”, said the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic pointed out the support of Serbia in the implementation of infrastructure projects, education and health care, and also support for employers who want to start their business in Srpska.

The President Cvijanović assessed as important the achievement of political stability necessary for implementation of economic projects and decision-making at the local level, of which activism is expected towards the Government of Srpska.
