The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in Mostar with the holder of the list “Stay here – Together for our Mostar” Velibor Milivojević, representatives of the list and representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović pointed out that the support of the institutions of the Republic of Srpska to the Serbs in Mostar has never been questioned, and that all these years it has been expressed both to the Serb community and to the people who have dedicated efforts to organise their lives in that city and contribute through certain joint arrangements.

The President Cvijanović stressed that she came to Mostar to support people who entered a serious political endeavor, such as unity and a unique appearance in the upcoming elections.

“I have been positively surprised that extremely young people appear as list holders who know what they want, both politically and in every other aspect, human and professional, to ensure equality with others in Mostar because they have the right to do so. Their message is clear and they want to have the right to regulate the processes that are important for the life of all our people in this city in a special political way, as it belongs to them”, said the President of the Republic after the meeting with the representatives of the list “Stay Here – Together for our Mostar”.

The President Cvijanović pointed out that her greatest support goes in the direction of the achieved unity, which, as she assessed, is a great step forward in the political system which should consequently reflect on better living conditions, equal participation in political processes, solving basic existential issues and infrastructure as well as all other issues that are important for their life in Mostar.

The President of the Republic said that the republican institutions will continue to be with their people in Mostar and their priorities related to the creation of better living conditions.

“Adequate political representation is certainly the most important priority, because only then can you ensure equality and equal participation in the processes that are important for life. Living in the imagination that in a community like this or in complex, multinational states, someone else will do something for someone else – that never happens. You must have an adequate political representation in order to be able to resolve other issues”, it was pointed out by the President Cvijanović.

The President of the Republic pointed out that she believes in the success of these people and on what they agreed on. The unity that was achieved for these elections should be the formula for all political processes in the future.

“It is not enough to do that once and show your political forces. This is a new practice that should be followed through many political processes”, said the President of the Republic of Srpska and expressed hope that the goal of the Serb people on equality in Mostar will be achieved.
