The President of the Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative in BiH Johann Sattler.
The current political and economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, European integration and the upcoming local elections in BiH were discussed at the meeting.
The President Cvijanović and the Ambassador Sattler also exchanged views regarding the fulfillment of 14 key priorities from the European Commission Opinion, which, as they pointed out, are necessary for acquiring the candidate status for membership in this organisation.
At the meeting, they also discussed the current situation in relation to the crisis caused by the spread of the Coronavirus, as well as the measures taken by the institutions of the Republic of Srpska in the fight against the epidemic.
On this occasion, the President Cvijanović once again thanked the Ambassador Sattler for the help that the EU provided for the needs of the Republic of Srpska health system.
During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on security challenges in the region and the world, in the context of the recent terrorist attacks in France and Austria, and it was jointly assessed that terrorism is a global threat that requires a serious approach and comprehensive engagement of all progressive domestic and international forces.
