President of the Republic of Srpska meets with the Head of Diplomatic Office of the Kingdom of Belgium in BiH

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today in her office with the Head of Diplomatic Office of the Kingdom of Belgium in BiH William Asselborn.

The current political and economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH, the improvement of economic cooperation and the development of the overall relations between Belgium and the Republic of Srpska were discussed at the meeting.

During the meeting with Asselborn, the President Cvijanović emphasized that the Republic of Srpska institutions are fully committed to the European integration and to further implementation of economic and social reforms aimed at improving the economic environment as well as the living standards of all citizens.

On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that Belgium is a successful example that proves that decentralised states, like BiH, have their place in the European Union, and that success means respecting different interests and identities, and not their denial.

During the meeting, the President Cvijanović pointed out that the formation of a new convocation of the Council of Ministers, as well as legitimate government at all levels, is the exercise of the electoral will of citizens, and that it is a democratic process that cannot be the subject to political or any conditionalisation.
